ZECHINDUSTRIAL RIGGINGZECH TURNBUCKLE BUYER GUIDE
Turnbuckle Selection Guide
A practical specification guide for distributors and project buyers sourcing open-body turnbuckles, closed-body rigging screws and eye, hook or jaw end combinations.

BUYER PRINCIPLE
Define the complete tensioning assembly, not only the thread size.
Two turnbuckles with the same nominal thread can differ in body style, end fittings, closed length, take-up, material, finish and load basis. Record these fields in one written RFQ before comparing offers.

SELECTION CHECKPOINTS
What to confirm before quotation.
Use these checkpoints to make supplier quotations technically comparable and reduce model changes after purchase.
1. Choose body style and end combination+
State open or closed body and the exact end combination: eye-eye, hook-eye, hook-hook, jaw-jaw or another required pattern. Include pin, cotter or locking details where applicable.
2. Specify thread and adjustment range+
Provide thread system, nominal diameter, right- and left-hand thread requirement, closed length and take-up. The same nominal size may be offered with different adjustment travel.
3. Define load basis and application+
Describe the tensioning application, loading direction and required WLL or design basis. Identify the applicable product or dimensional standard rather than relying on appearance alone.
4. Confirm material, finish and environment+
Specify carbon steel or stainless grade, galvanizing or other finish, and the expected marine, outdoor, structural or industrial environment.
5. Agree marking, inspection and packing+
Confirm required marking, dimensional checks, proof-load or document scope, quantity by size and export packing before the purchase order is released.

DIRECT ANSWERS
Questions industrial buyers ask.
What information is needed for a turnbuckle quotation?+
Send the body style, end combination, thread size and system, closed length, take-up, material, finish, load basis, standard, quantity, packing and destination.
What is the difference between a turnbuckle and a rigging screw?+
Both tension an assembly by rotating a body with right- and left-hand threaded ends. Product naming varies by market; the required body style, ends, dimensions, load basis and standard should be stated explicitly.
Can ZECH review a drawing or existing sample?+
Yes. Send the drawing, catalog reference or sample dimensions with the intended application. ZECH will review the match before issuing an order-specific quotation.
