ZECH SHACKLE BUYER GUIDE

Lifting Shackle Selection Guide

A procurement checklist for forged bow and D shackles with screw-pin, safety-bolt and order-specific pin configurations.

Forged lifting shackles from ZECH
Technical requirements are confirmed against the selected model and purchase order.

BUYER PRINCIPLE

Match body, pin and load requirement as one product.

Shackles that look similar can use different body geometry, pin retention, material, WLL basis and standards. A complete RFQ identifies the intended connection and every technical field used to approve the model.

SELECTION CHECKPOINTS

What to confirm before quotation.

Use these checkpoints to make supplier quotations technically comparable and reduce model changes after purchase.

1. Select bow or D body geometry+

Use a bow body when the connection needs a wider internal radius or may receive multiple sling legs; use the specified D pattern for aligned connections. Final suitability depends on the selected model and loading condition.

2. Identify the pin configuration+

State screw pin, round pin, safety bolt with nut and cotter, or another project-specific arrangement. Include how frequently the connection will be assembled or removed.

3. Record size, WLL and loading condition+

Provide nominal size, required WLL, loading direction and any side-loading restriction or multi-leg connection detail for technical review.

4. State material, standard and finish+

Identify the required material grade, applicable standard, design or safety-factor basis, galvanizing or coating, and permanent marking.

5. Define verification and traceability+

Agree proof-load, NDT or MPI, batch traceability, certificates, quantity and export packing as order-specific requirements before production.

DIRECT ANSWERS

Questions industrial buyers ask.

What should I send for a lifting shackle quotation?+

Send the body pattern, pin type, nominal size, WLL, intended connection, loading condition, material, standard, finish, quantity, testing, documentation and destination.

Can a bow shackle and D shackle be treated as interchangeable?+

No. Body geometry affects the connection space and loading arrangement. The correct pattern must be reviewed against the selected model, connected components and intended load.

Can ZECH provide order-specific inspection documents?+

Inspection and documentation can be reviewed for the selected product and order. State the required proof-load, NDT or MPI, traceability and certificate scope in the RFQ.
