ZECH EYE HARDWARE BUYER GUIDE

Eye Bolt and Lifting Point Selection Guide

A practical specification guide for threaded eye bolts, eye nuts, weld-on eyes and plate-mounted connection points used in industrial assemblies.

Eye bolts, eye nuts and lifting points from ZECH
Technical requirements are confirmed against the selected model and purchase order.

BUYER PRINCIPLE

Loading direction and mounting details come before thread size.

An eye bolt is part of a connection system. The correct selection depends on the eye pattern, thread engagement, mounting surface, load direction, material, standard and how the connected sling or fitting bears on the eye.

SELECTION CHECKPOINTS

What to confirm before quotation.

Use these checkpoints to make supplier quotations technically comparable and reduce model changes after purchase.

1. Identify the eye-hardware pattern+

State threaded eye bolt, eye nut, weld-on eye, eye plate or another lifting-point pattern. Include a drawing, reference image or catalog designation when possible.

2. Specify thread and mounting geometry+

Provide metric or inch thread, diameter, pitch, shank length, required thread engagement and the mating material or mounting-plate dimensions.

3. Describe loading direction and connection+

Record whether the load is in-line, angular or potentially rotating, plus the connected hook, shackle or sling geometry. Final suitability must be confirmed for the selected model and application.

4. Confirm material, standard and finish+

Identify material grade, applicable product standard, heat-treatment requirement, galvanizing or coating, and corrosion exposure.

5. Agree verification and installation information+

State required marking, proof-load or inspection documents, installation instructions, quantity, packaging and destination.

DIRECT ANSWERS

Questions industrial buyers ask.

What information is needed for an eye bolt quotation?+

Send the eye pattern, thread system and size, shank length, mounting details, load direction, required WLL or design basis, material, standard, finish, quantity and documentation.

Can a standard eye bolt be used for angular loading?+

Do not assume it can. Permitted loading direction depends on the exact eye-bolt design, standard, installation and manufacturer data. State the real loading condition so the appropriate model can be reviewed.

Can ZECH match an eye bolt from a drawing or sample?+

Yes. Send the drawing or sample dimensions together with the mounting and loading requirements. ZECH will review the technical match before quotation.
